The Videotaped Streaming Modules:
The videotaped modules have been developed to run on Windows Media Player and Quicktime. Most computers already have at least one of these installed. In the unlikely event that your computer has neither you can obtain them as a free download by clicking on the links below. Download Speeds and Quality All "streamed" videotaped material has to be a compromise between quality and the size of the download file. We have provided two options, a good quality option and a low resolution option. (Please note that even the good quality download is definitely not as high as the quality on the actual DVD.) When the downloads open up you will initially see a blank screen and an indication in the bottom segment that shows that the download is in the "buffering" process. On most computers the programme will start automatically once some initial buffering has occurred. The length of time this takes will be determined by your download speed (i.e. the speed of your connection) and whether or not you have chosen the good quality or low resolution option. Once the programme initially starts to play it may "outpace" the speed at which the programme is continuing to download. When this occurs the programme will stop and then restart as more of it is "buffered". The best way to avoid the programme "staggering" along is to stop it by using the buttons on the screen and wait until it has been fully downloaded. Once the programme has been fully downloaded it will play smoothly! For further information contact admin@sleepwell.co.nz |
